After participating in the project meeting (10-11 June) of the AGRI-COOL sister project in Vicenza, the IIR team travelled to Milan to take part in the 22nd European Conference, organised by Centro Studi Galileo on 12–13 June 2025 in Milan, Italy. This internationally renowned event brought together leading experts, researchers and industry professionals to explore the latest advancements in refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump (RACHP) technologies, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and innovation.
SophiA was particularly presented to the U3ARC delegation — composed of the President, Vice-President and members of ACOPROF (Association Congolaise des Professionnels du Froid et de la Climatisation) — who were especially interested in its installation in West and Central Africa.
This year’s conference also marked the 50th anniversary of Centro Studi Galileo — a milestone worth celebrating — and the start of another 50 years of success! Congratulations to CSG and the entire HVACR sector for their incredible achievements and continued commitment to innovation, training and sustainability!
On 13 June 2025, Ina Colombo also represented IIR at UNOC3 (Third United Nations Ocean Conference Nice 2025) in Nice, where she met with the ECOWAS team from the Department of Economic Affairs & Agriculture during a WACA (West Africa Coastal Activities) Table Talk. This was a key opportunity to further discuss SophiA, CLIM’ECO and related projects for the West African region.
Over the weekend, Yosr Allouche, IIR’s Director General, promoted SophiA at the MENA Region One Health Conference in Tunis (14–15 June 2025), hosted by the Government of Tunisia and co-organised by the World Bank alongside FAO, UNEP, WHO and WOAH. This landmark event represented a major step forward in advancing the One Health approach across the region, bringing together decision-makers, experts and leaders to foster collaboration at the intersection of human, animal and environmental health.
