We are excited to announce that World Refrigeration Day 2025 will take place on June 26, 2025. This annual global event highlights the essential contributions of refrigeration to society, from ensuring access to safe food and healthcare to enabling sustainable cooling technologies.
In this context, all pilot countries of the SophiA project are encouraged to organise national events to celebrate World Refrigeration Day and raise awareness about the importance of sustainable refrigeration solutions. These events will provide an opportunity to showcase the impact of solar-powered medical refrigeration in improving healthcare access and reducing environmental impact.
As part of the global celebrations, the IIR is preparing a high-level international event in Paris on June 18, 2025, bringing together key decision-makers from governments, industry, academia, and international organisations.
All SophiA pilot countries will take part in this initiative, hosting their own events to highlight the importance of sustainable refrigeration solutions at the national level.
