Our partner Makerere University launched the international multidisciplinary project “Sustainable Off-grid Solutions for Pharmacies and Hospitals in Africa” (SophiA).
On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor Barnabas Nawangwe underlined the importance for Makerere University to participate in the SophiA project. The grant given to Makerere is an opportunity to address the issues faced by health centres in Uganda.
Makerere highlighted two of the project’s nine work package: work package 1 aimed at assessing the needs of several health facilities and work package 7 which will investigate the environmental, economic and social aspects of SophiA solutions.
