Keeping vaccines cold without electricity. Powering operating theatres with the sun. Bringing reliable energy to remote hospitals in Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Malawi and Uganda.
When SophiA started, many said it couldn’t be done. Today, solar-powered cooling and clean energy are running in health facilities across four African countries, and lives depend on them and are saved by them every day.
Our next mission: making it last and expand across the African continent. No mission is impossible: €10 million for the SophiA Foundation, which is to be established as a charitable organization
EU projects end. Health needs don’t. The main SophiA partners are therefore creating the SophiA Foundation, a charitable foundation that will support African hospitals for the long term. It will maintain installed systems, equip new facilities and train local technicians.
To get there, we need €10 million.
It’s an ambitious goal. But at SophiA, we have learned one thing: no mission is impossible, as long as the right people join it.
Will you join the mission?
Philanthropists and major donors: put your wealth to work where it saves lives. Let’s talk.
Your network: know someone who could help? Connect us.
Every contribution matters: smaller donations are welcome too, including for our SOCRATES training initiative – SophiA Online College for Refrigeration, Airconditioning and Thermal Energy Systems.
