The SophiA project has entered an exciting new phase in Cameroon with the official inauguration of its sites, marking an important step in strengthening sustainable medical refrigeration in the country.
Launch ceremonies have already taken place at the PVMEDPORT sites of Ekekam (9 September 2025) and Nomayos (11 September 2025), with the Edea site inauguration to follow shortly. These events brought together project partners, local stakeholders, and community members to celebrate the arrival and installation of innovative refrigeration technologies designed to support medical services in rural areas.
The inaugurations provided a platform to raise awareness about the crucial role of reliable and environmentally friendly refrigeration in healthcare. Guests were able to learn more about how SophiA technologies contribute to the safe storage of vaccines, medicines, and other sensitive health products, while reducing environmental impact and supporting Cameroon’s sustainable development goals.
